This project stared when the incumbent Cheshire County Administrator stopped by my booth at Art in the Park on Labor Day weekend in 2016. He liked my work and asked if I would be interested in taking some shots of the 23 towns in Cheshire County that he could use to showcase the county in the lower level of the Old Court House on Court Street in Keene.

I said I would be honored to do the project and in spring of 2017 I researched on the web and in local books some of the areas that I would be able to get some fine shots for the project.

Shooting was done early mornings before the sun rose and mostly on Sundays as I wanted to minimize any cars and people in the pictures. I was successful on both goals.

FITZWILLIAM, NH - Common

JAFFREY, NH - Town Meeting House

NELSON, NH - Library & Church

STODDARD, NH - Historical Society

 TROY, NH - Common

Many towns I had to return to several times due to weather or because there was the occasional car or person in the shot I wanted. Many towns afforded many different picture opportunities while a couple towns offered only a few. Either way I learned that Cheshire County was a beautiful place to live and afforded such beauty if one just opened their hearts and eyes to the many splendors of the region.

I shot almost 200 different scenes but Chris and his team only wanted one picture per town to adorn the hall in the Old Court House. They picked out 23 pictures and Micheals matted and framed each with a name plaque in the picture. I then took some liberties on verbiage found on each town's website and made a letter sized information page and it was hung under each picture.

The CC Administrator held a benefit for the Old Court House in October 2017 and all attendees walked through the hallway to get to the upstairs gala. The Administrator said the display came out better than he anticipated. WHEW!!!

I liked the project so much that I will eventually add more towns and counties. Maybe one will be yours!

Thank You for looking at my work. Photography is one of the ways I relax and have fun.
